    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The projects are really interesting and you won't find work like it anywhere else. I ocassionally got the odd boring task to do but thats to be expected with any job and as a whole I really enjoyed my time there.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The team I was in had 3 students and 3 others from other teams doing work for us. One project in particular really relies on students and that was acknowledged.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My line manager was incredibly supportive and would always help whenever I had problems. She made it a very enjoyable and relaxed work enviroment.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • A majority of the time I had a suitably busy. I had a couple of periods of time where I didn't have much work to do but once I'd mentioned this to my line manager it quickly got better again.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Some projects I did pretty much by myself others were a joint effort between myself and other students/colleagues.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Looking through the modules for my first year (I'm on a pre-uni placement) I've covered most of them during my time here. I've also picked up a lot of transferable skills.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very relaxed and friendly. I'm in an office of only 4 people but we always have the radio on a people popping in so its never too quiet.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I ocassionally began running out of work to do but other than that it was very well organised.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I did have some training, but as I have not taken the sponsorship I, understandably, did not get as much training as the other students.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    National Travel

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Above 25 days holiday

    Working from home

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I did not apply for sponsorship due to the closing down of the site I currently work on but, I feel if I ever wanted to come back I would be welcome.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • I socialised with some of the other students and we ate lunch together most days.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I lived at home and commuted for the year so cost of living was not an issue. I worked at Fort Halstead (just outside of London) so its fairly expensive.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Lots of nice pubs and London is short train journey away

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I didn't take many of them but there are oppurtunities for nigths out/activities.

    4/5
