The Role
Provides a huge extent of opportunities that you will never find anywhere else.
Although you are a student/graduate, everyone makes an effort to include you in. There is a need to prove yourself to be able to get to the better work.
A lot of training and support was given.
Work load fluctuated a fair bit. I have been the busiest I have ever been doing this job to being all very relaxed the next week. It really depends on context of work.
Given the amount deserved of my experience.
Massive amount learnt, will take everything and use to my advantage. A worthwile thing to do.
The Company
I was in a temporary office and jumped around a bit, but ended up sometimes with no people around me. I didnt mind as I could play the radio out loud without disturbing anyone else while cracking on with work.
Most well organised. Dstl are well seasoned at taking in placements.
A lot of valuable training was given and they are willing to if you have a case to!
Flexi Time
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
National Travel
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Working from home
Applying back for a summer job and everyone is happy for me to come back.
The Culture
I didn't personally enjoy the scene between other students, but I socialised well with the graduates and had socials yes.
Fairly costly area to live in, but that is because everything is so well connected in the London area.
Around work? next to nothing. Where I lived nearby? London was down the road and lovely pubs everywhere.
Many different sports activites outside work, e.g. football
