The Role
Overall, I've had a really good placement year, there are so many new skils i am now able to draw upon both technically and personally.
I have felt really supported throughout this year at Gist, not only within the consulting team but through different departments.
This role is fairly dependent upon project demand. For example being involved with both Carlsberg and Tulip have meant for a few weeks i have had to be at different locations almost every other day. On the other hand at quiter times you will be expected to do general team tasks, reports and administration work.
If you are able to show you are capable within this role the more opportunities you will be given.
The Company
Everyone is very friendly within the office. The floor conusltancy is in is integrated with IT nad Network Planning, so all teams are continually talking with each other. There never seems to be a dull moment!

Gist really do focus on its people. Graduates are put on fast track scheme to progress withing the company, so opportunities are continuous and ever changing.
The Culture
This year i was the only placemnet student in head office. However there are graduates so a couple of us would always go out for dinner etc. In the future there will be more industrial placements based at head office within HR and IT (dependent upon the work load demand)
I found that rent was at the higher end of my budget. In comparison to the north of England, everything in the south is that bit more expensive
Dependment upto what you preferneces are. In comparison to Birmingham, Basingstoke is far smaller in scale and options, although i have always had a good night out, i always find it depends on the people you are with.
