The Role
The internship was very enjoyable
Was part of the team from the start, and well utilised
All jobs were explained carefully and clearly, though mostly not by managers but the people setting the tasks
Generally good balance, almost always had work to do but not required to work late
Was able to draft emails and do real client work thanks to the checking/reviewing system, so felt I had genuine responsibility.
Office/presentation skills and general financial topics are useful. Some other areas of training were quite specific to the job but may be useful in some courses
The Company
Very friendly and welcoming. Lots of social events organised too (including one run by the interns)
Generally well organised, but not overmanaged.
Lots of training throughout first two weeks, and time spent explaining various topics. Senior associates attended some of our presentations.
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Future employment is very appealing, definitely plan to return if a job is offered
The Culture
Very good, including pub trips every Friday and various other events.
Food and drink were quite expensive, however a lot was bought for the interns so it wasn't such an issue.
A couple of nice pubs and one or two clubs but not spectacular
Lots of socials (at least 4 in 6 weeks) as well as standard trips to the pub/etc
