    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Thoroughly enjoyed myself. The scheme was very well organized by HR and offered a great opportunity not only to learn from the working experience but also to connect with other interns and create future contacts.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Happy to say I felt I was treated like an equal colleague as opposed to being treated like an intern. Some of work I had completed over the course of 4 weeks was being presented to clients and were often key parts to the project. I felt my time and work was valued by my colleagues.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Although the head of my team was often not around, there was always someone to guide and help me. My teammembers and colleagues were always very willing to help.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Some days swamped with work and other days hardly a thing to do! Towards the end of my placement there was work that was continuing on from previous projects and running through.

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • A fair amount of responsibility to complete given tasks to a particular standard as it was being presented to clients and was often a key component of client presentations.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Technological skills developed will help speed up my work-rate in my final year at university and beyond. Communication skills and work ettiquette, priceless!

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Bright, airy, relaxed, yet productive. People would often be talking on the phone or discussing work with colleagues - more relaxed work environment. I felt this boosted productivity and allowed me to feel comfortable in the working environment.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Extremely well organized by HR. A lot of thought and organization went into the induction and various meetings. HR were always very helpful if interns ever required anything. All interns received their own work desk, telephone number, security key card and laptop to work from.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Presentation skills workshop. No other personal training or development workshops were held. No workshops or training sessions by my team either. However, the presentation skills workshop was thorough and very helpful.

    3/5

  • Sports and Social Club

    Company Parties/Events

    Working from home

    2/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing. They have called me back 3 weeks later to do a couple of days (paid) work with them! Fingers crossed, they may want to keep me on once I graduate from university next summer.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes. drinks were held every week organized by fellow interns. HR organized a social event to allow fellow interns and new graduates to connect and mingle. Social sports events were held.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Quite expensive. Central London close to Marylebone and Selfridges. Food and other subsistence worked out to be quite dear. Lived approximately 30 minute commute away outside of Central London therefore not sure about living costs.

    1/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Great, lots of cool and hip bars, restaurants and clubs. The office is in a very central location however I never made it out past 10 o'clock on a school night for fear of not waking up the next morning!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • A handful, social events, sports events. Not very many, perhaps the team I was in.
