The Role
My role was really varied so gave me the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills and develop my knowledge of different processes and computer skills.
I was valued by my team who trusted me to manage my own projects and I was someone they could rely on to produce good quality work efficiently.
My line manager was on hand any time I needed guidance in my role and was someone I could go to if I had any issues in the office/with my role.
As my role was varied I was busier at certain times of the month so had to manage my workload so I had tasks to complete when I wasn't as busy.
I managed my own project and had to become the expert for the system so was given a huge responsibility in making sure the system worked correctly and was providing the data needed on time.
Some of the skills I learnt, such as the systems, are not relevant for my degree but skills such as communication, time management and prioritisation will be really useful when completing my final year at university.
The Company
The office atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed so easy to settle in.
The placement was very organised with my manager having regular meetings with myself to understand what work I am completing and to hand over new tasks and the mid year and end of year reviews are well organised and allow you to understand your strengths and weaknesses and what areas there are for improvement for the rest of the placement.
I was given training when I first started and some ongoing training on new systems but you are left to complete your role and the personal development comes from doing this alone.

There is the option to apply for the graduate scheme at the end of your placement and I was lucky to secure a place on the scheme for when I finish university.
The Culture
There are a large number of interns so a good social atmosphere.
It was expensive to live in London and socialise at weekends but the increased London wage helps slightly with the cost of living.
There are some nice pubs around and with a lot of people from work heading to one on Friday evenings so a good place to socialise.
