    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • This was an invaluable opportunity to gain an insight into a career that I was interested in and I must have enjoyed it because it has solidified my ambitions to join the firm! I found some of the work challenging (in a very positive way) and the hard-working yet never oppressive atmosphere really made me feel at home.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I thought that the generous socials that were put on made me feel financially valuable and some members of staff really gave me the time of day, how just by nature of most people's jobs they didn't seem particularly interested in me being there - and why should they!

    3/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I felt that when I asked a question on how to complete work etc. that I would have my queries answered, however a lot of people's abilities to clearly explain what they want were really lacking.

    2/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think that I have learned to be more confident when transitioning into new things, and that it is always better to ask questions if and when you don't understand something. I had previously always been quite afraid to do that.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Excellent structure. One and a half weeks was a good length of time in each seat and the socials were excellent. Although the concept of our Scheme being peppered with talks and training sessions was positive, I did find that in practice they sometimes made the day feel slightly disjointed.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • I did not encounter anything or anyone unpleasant throughout the whole three weeks. In general, everyone was nicely upbeat and friendly.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The fact that we were at least slightly entrusted to carry out actual work needed for the firm was better training than any hour in a classroom!

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I think that although we were to some extent molly-coddled throughout the Scheme, we were able to witness first-hand how the firm operates enough to get a clear picture.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • By having the opportunity to talk to members of staff and see them interact, I was able to get a good sense of the firm's attitudes and values as well as the lifestyles of many of the employees.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • To put it simply, it was invaluable.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Yes, although had I not managed to secure cut-price accommodation for myself then I might have struggled.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were a great deal of opportunities. I thought that by having both trainee socials and the partner brunch etc. it gave us a real taste of work at different levels of the firm.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Amazing no-expense-spared opportunities.

    4/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • There were plenty of opportunities to talk to employees about this.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Absolutely - I think three weeks is an excellent amount of time.
