  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was generally kept busy with engaging tasks, which I appreciated. There were days where I didn't have as much work, and where I had to find some of my own tasks to an extent- although this was explained to me previously, and was something I considered an element of professional employment.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a large amount of responsibility, which I was very happy with. This involved various tasks, such as presenting to a number of corporate leaders or producing a number of important reports for example.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Whilst some of the tasks assigned to me reinforced my previous skills as opposed to developing new ones, I was still given an insight as to skills to develop- skills that can be put into practice during my degree studies.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Whilst there were days in which the office was very quiet, the majority of the time it was sociable- very helpful when the people sitting across from you were often key contributors as to one of your projects.

  • The internship was very well organised, with clear responsibilities provided and a good programme of work set.

I was encouraged to attend conferences and meetings, for example, where I had the opportunity to contribute to discussions and develop my professional communication skills.

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • 5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Whilst there wasn't a 'social scene' as such due to the nature of the organisation, everyone was still very friendly and welcoming which helped make the internship worthwhile- I made good networks with people I hope to stay in contact with.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Reading is a typically expensive area, with a high cost of living. I got used to this during my university studies however, so this wasn't as much of a mitigating factor as it could have been for others with no previous experience of the area.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Reading has great nightlife, and this is reflected in the vast amount of pubs and clubs in the area- definitely a student town!

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I was presented with countless opportunities to engage with during my time at the organisation- opportunities I really appreciated.
