  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my experience at Buro Happold, firstly the team is very welcoming and helpful, and i worked on projects alongside the team as an equal, learning so much and making many new contacts.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt very valued they included me in meetings, emails to clients and manufacturers, and any office activity.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given huge support from the management team here. They helped me settle in, and were always ready to answer any of my questions.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was busy most days, especially when we had a meeting or a deadline was looming otherwise i would be working at a steady pace getting any work i was asked for as good as i could do it.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given several responsibilities such as contacting manufacturers, and i was given my very own work that would be mine and i would have to discuss it with my boss, for example how i could increase the accuracy of my spreadsheet or how changing something which i had assumed could change the whole spreadsheet.

  • 4/5

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was a great atmosphere

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was very organised i had work to do as soon as i arrived and i have had work to do ever since, the work was connecting, in the sense that everything i did led onto the next piece of work i had to do.

  • The company taught me a lot of valuable things that enabled me to work on more technical things.

  • I hope to return to Buro Happold in the future and it has been hinted to me by management that if i wish to return they would happily have me back.

  • Yes there was a very good social scene

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Yes i was able to attend various CPD meeting to further my knowledge and many social events within the office or just general pub nights on Friday
