    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my placement with Nissan, working with a small, friendly team. There was also a good mix of responsibility, support and coaching.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • All work was valued by my colleagues, weather that was line manager or the rest of the team. My views were also taken into consideration in team meetings.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I had weekly 1:1 meetings with my line manager which were very useful.

    4/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • During the beginning of the placement work load was steady, however as time went on I was given more and more responsibility. Nissan however is a fast paced and busy environment.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Responsibility grew with time in the business. However many tasks and processes were my sole responsibility within my department.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Skills will definitely be transferred to the rest of my studies, especially time management.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office was busy, but everyone was very friendly. I felt at ease with my department. We also had company and team away days which were very enjoyable.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Placement was well organised, with quarterly review meetings especially for placement students.

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I attended training in Paris and was given the opportunity to work on day to day tasks as well as projects. Therefore I believe the company invested a lot into me.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • For other departments I believe the opportunities would be much higher.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There were 9 placement students, with the majority of us living in a similar area meaning social activities outside work were relatively easy to organise.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Uxbridge is a London borough so socialising and living was relatively expensive. However being able to get the tube into central London was very easy and relatively cheap with a student railcard.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Rickmansworth is quiet, however being able to travel to central London expands the opportunities.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There was a sports and social club with opportunities from paint balling to meals out.
