About You
Really enjoyable - the social events were very well organised and fun, the other vac schemers were nice, as were all the graduate recruitment team and trainees.
People in my department really took the time to explain cases or deals to me for pieces of work I was asked to do. They also gave me useful feedback on tasks I had completed, and thanked me for the work I had done.
A lot of guidance (as above) from the people in my department. Graduate recruitment explained the Assessment Process in detail and clearly and let us know when we would be told the outcome.
Not particularly for my degree, but certainly in terms of learning about the legal sector. I also developed skills that will hopefully come in useful in a potential legal career.
The Company
Very well structured, we followed the diary that we were given on the first day. Work that I was given in the department was more ad hoc, but that was the point.
Very friendly, everyone was very helpful and it was enjoyable working in groups with the other vac schemers.
We had a full day induction and talks almost every day from different departments, which were usually delivered by Partners. We also had IT training.
I worked noticeably less hours than the employees but I think it gave me a good insight into the kind of work I might do as a trainee.
A lot - especially the CMS Strategy, Corporate Social Responsibility and Diversity talks.
Very helpful in terms of a legal career.
Everything Else
Although the pay would only just about cover rent and travel in London.
Yes there were lots of opportunities. I also had the chance to complete a CSR day and got to meet people from other departments there.
Very enjoyable and fun.
Yes, for example football and CSR days.
Yes I would.
