    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Insight was incredibly enjoyable. One of the best experiences I've had. I learnt so much about both TeachFirst and myself.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • TeachFirst made us feel like we were valued, like we can make an impact towards their mission.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • There was a team of staff there for us 24/7. We were given multiple contact numbers and addresses. Whether it be worries in the lead up to insight or just advice while there they were on hand. From anything from transport to the school, accommodation or questions regarding teach first they were so incredibly helpful. They even came to visit us at our school to check how we were getting on.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The programme massively improved my confidence which I can take with me into my degree and my future career. It also made me a far more independent person, coming from the north east I learnt that London isn't that scary.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The programme although in the run up didn't seem particularly well organised as things were left quite late, it all very much came together. We knew exactly what we were doing everyday of the programme, we were given timetables for the first week and were told in plenty of time which school we would be placed at.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Everyone on insight was so friendly and welcoming. You find new friends incredibly quickly, I still contact these friends regularly. . I absolutely loved this programme and cant recommend it enough.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We were given multiple personal development sessions in the first week which were helpful. They gave us hints and tips for applying for the graduate scheme which will come in handy when applying for that.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The insight programme in the first week is quite different to working with the company but the second week you get the opportunity to go into a school and teach a lesson which gives you experience of what it is like to work with them full time.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?

  • We were paid £500 for completing the programme. All accommodation was paid for, we only had to cover food and travel. Completing the programme also allows you to bybass application stage for the graduate programme.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • During the time many teach first employees and ambassadors came to talk to us so we heard many different experiences. We also got to meet our graduate recruitment officer.
