  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?

    • The vacation scheme was very enjoyable as it gave me a broad overview of what it was like to actually work at Simmons & Simmons and that really helped me decide what firm I truly wanted to train at.

    • People at the firm did actually value my help and the work that I did and it usually was never some work that was made up just for the vacation scheme.

    • The supervisors were always making sure that I had some work and always made sure that I was able to cope with the amount given and help out whenever it was needed.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?

    • I was able to develop many skills such as attention to detail, drafting skills and proofreading which would of course assist me tremendously during law school, especially for future coursework.

    • The insight was well-structured since, grad rec had planned it so well.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?

    • I found that our scheme could have had a bit more fun. We generally did go out for the events but most of the time they always called it a day quite early.

    • We had several workshops where we had the opportunity to improve in our drafting and negotiation skills

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    • It helped a lot as it allowed me to integrate with the team and actually be able to engage with and work with most of the department

    • I was invited to several department drinks where I was able to get a feel for the type of people working there. Also, everyone always had their door open and were always willing to talk to you for whatever reason should you have a question or concern

    • Quite valuable, since I probably would have never had known what it was like to work with hedge fund companies if I was not in financial services

    • I was always paid on a weekly basis

    • Yes there were several networking opportunities such as partner brunches and drinks

    • The socials were a lot of fun especially the bounce tournament and the champagne reception

    • Yes I did we got many invites to play 5 a side football or softball
