  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The placement was great, the work was interesting and everyone was really friendly and helpful, a great work atmosphere and learned so much.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Colleagues treated all Placement Students as fellow colleagues (not just placements) and used the work we produced really making us see how the company really valued us and gave us real work to help drive the business forward.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Given a lot of support and they were able very quickly to see strengths and weaknesses and tailor tasks to help develop skills to help you improve.

  • There was a good balance of always work to do (whether it was urgent tasks or development work) but never an overwhelming workload.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Given plenty of responsibility for various tasks that helped our department and other teams, really felt like we were contributing.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Computing skills on Excel and Access improved dramatically as well as teamwork (collaborating with colleagues on a daily basis) and general business etiquette, how to interact in the real world of work.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Very good balance of focus in order to get things done, but a pleasant atmosphere as well, breaking off into general discussions.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The placement was set up vey well giving a great insight into not only your individual role, but also seeing other departments and how they operate, giving a broader knowledge of the company.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company invested a lot, organising training sessions on Excel/Access and departmental presentations. Line managers particularly invested a lot of time in my development.

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Very appealing, the Graduate Scheme offers great rotation programme of various roles and there is a lot of room for progression, both in the UK and abroad.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Sports and social club organised lots of events and team away days and Christmas parties helped to create a great social scene.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • As outside of London quite expensive but with salary and quality of venues not an issue.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Good nightlife, local bars in St Albans and Watford but mostly used London.

  • Plenty of activities outside of work such as sports clubs, local gyms, cinemas, restaurants/bars
