The Role
I very much enjoyed my work placement. It gave me the opportunity to get practical experience in a multi-national company.
I felt very valued by my colleagues. They were very good at giving you credit for work that you had done. They really made me feel like I was a part of the team (and not only here for 1 year).
I had weekly meetings with my manager which allowed for constant guidance and support. The other members of the team were very open to providing guidance and support not only when I asked for it but also before I began any task.
It varied - some times of year were more busy than others. Overall I felt that I was a good level of busy with a good range of work from everyone in my team.
I was allowed as much responsibility as I was shown I could handle. The more initiative you take and the more you show your line manager that you can be trusted, the more responsibility you will be given.
I have already finished my degree but it has offered me practical experience for what I previously learned in my degree.
The Company
The atmosphere was very nice but equally hardworking. I felt it had a good balance of both.
I thought the work placement was very well organised.
There were about 4 intern development sessions which were quite helpful. They ranged from presentation skills, time management to job recruitment.
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
If I could work at Warner Bros. in the future I would no doubt take a position. It is a great company to work for and the legal team in particular feels like a family.
The Culture
There were at least monthly hang outs with other students/colleagues. I always felt included as well.
As this is central London, the cost of living and socializing is quite high.
It is largely after work pubs but I thought it had nice places. Although it is quite close to Covent Garden and Soho.
There were pub quizzes organized as well as the occasional drinks.
