The Role
I really enjoyed my time at Warner Bros. The company is so fast paced and I feel I've learnt so much about the industry, as well as HR and Recruitment.
I felt really welcome and part of the team from my first day. Everyone was really friendly and made sure that I was comfortable and confident in my work and responsibilities.
From the beginning I met with both my managers weekly and this level of support was a constant throughout the year. I felt comfortable to go to either of them or any other of my colleagues if I had a question.
The beginning of my placement was a little bit quiet, which really eased me in and help me settle. But during the rest of the year I have been really busy with various different projects.
I was surprised with how much responsibility I was given - I wasn't expecting so much! During the recruitment of the new interns it became clear how important my role was in this process.
I have learnt so many invaluable skills, from the use of different software to seemingly simple things like how to write an email! Being in an office environment for a year has taught me a lot about the working world that I will definitely use in later life.
The Company
The office is a really fast paced and interesting place to work. There is always something new going on, whether it was in Games, Theatrical or TV. Also my the atmosphere in my department was fantastic - they definitely made my experience.
I spent 6 months with the HR team and 6 months with the Recruitment team. This was great as it meant I got exposure and experience in two different sectors of the department.
There was a intern training scheme where we received a training session every couple of months. These focused on different skills: time management, presentation skills, etc. I was also trained on the specific systems the department use.

WB doesn't have a graduate scheme, but the Recruitment department contact ex-interns with any applicable upcoming roles - so you are always kept in the loop!
The Culture
There are over 50 interns in the company so there are lots of other people in the same position as you - its like Freshers again! Also my department were really friendly and social, so there was always something going on if you wanted to get involved.
It was a bit of a shock to the system going from Loughborough to London prices! But you do get used it...
WB are based in Central London so there are loads of places to go.
I have been involved in lots of different activities - volunteer days, premieres, various corporate events and the reverse mentoring scheme.
