The Role
I have thoroughly enjoyed this year, probably one of the best years of my life! The placement has provided me with multiple opportunities to network, experience different parts of the business and gain a knowledge of how this industry works; while outside of the working life I have had a great social life through getting to know the other 50+ interns.
I feel that I am valued as a member within the team that I work in. I feel the extent to which you are valued comes from what you put in; if you are motivated, keen, reliable and have an input you will be more valued and rewarded with higher responsibility.
I sit next to my manager who has been more than happy to help with any questions about anything and has always steered me in the right direction. Couldn't really have asked for any more support!
I've rarely had a day where I have had nothing to do, even in the periods where you have a low workload there is always something you could be doing, such as research or analysis. So I would say a good level of busy, though it definitely gets more busy over the Christmas period.
I was given a good level of responsibility, I was given more once I proved I could complete certain tasks.
I have gained vital skills, information and training that will not only help me for for my dissertation next year but also to get a job in the future. Training such as presentation training, time management and also schemes that put you face to face with high up members of the business for a mentoring session have all contributed to a worthwhile year!
The Company
The general atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed; yet proactive, I have always felt comfortable working here.
Extremely, there has been a set training scheme throughout the year with performance reviews set up for specific dates also which has been helpful so I could gage how well I was progressing and what I can work on.
I was allowed to go on an external course of my choice which the company paid for and also went on 6 internal training sessions which have been extremely beneficial; so I would say a good amount!

If I was fortunate enough to be asked I would 100% come back if it was the right role.
The Culture
There were 50+ placement interns in my year and around 20 of us lived together and went out with each other every week/ weekend. I've probably had one of the best years of my life and hope to stay in contact with the intern group for a long time, we've done loads together! Not only this but I have gone on numerous social outings with my team as well.
The living and socialising costs are expensive, but that comes with living in London. You can go out a good amount if you keep track on your spending appropriately.
Good, there is a bar just down the road which does happy hour until 8 with half prices drinks which we regularly go to. There is also a few other bars which we would go to and then Covent Garden is only a 15 minute walk away which has some great rooftop bars!
Loads! I've been fortunate enough to work at Comic Con twice, go on a volunteer day at a North London school, go on a first aid course and participate in a few lunch and learn sessions with guest speakers. There is always something you can go on!
