    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my role at Vauxhall motors, I was able to take responsibility of my role and be creative whilst also given direction from my director. The only issue I found with my role was gthaht is wasn't as challenging as I would have liked it to have been, I really enjoy having deadlines and busy days, although can be stressful, make the days go much quicker. Which I enjoy.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I feel very valued by my colleagues. I have been very affiliated into my team and get along with everyone that I work with, particularly with my manager. I was able to not only get on with my colleagues within the work place but we also went on a lot of social evenings out and various meals, drinks during the week which i really enjoyed.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was given a lot of support by my manager and she helpoed me with any questions I had, but also gave me the responsibility and space to be creative and have my own take on projects.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • On a daily basis I was fairly busy, which was very easy to handle and also made the days go quickly. On some days, if I had a lot of meetings in one day I would be much more busy and would have to fit in my daily routine tasks in between my daily jobs which was a bit more fast-pace and exciting.

  • I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement which I have really enjoyed.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have been able to develop my writing and communication skills a lot this year which I will be able to take back to uni and use in my lectures for quick writing and also in my essays. I will also be able to take my workplace skills to my graduate jobs and interviews and beyond.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Yes - placement students were often out at weekends and during the week, myself and the girls would meet up to go for dinner and drinks. Its a really great social scene.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • The cost of living and socialising was very cheap in Luton which was nice to have extra cash. The surrounding areas such as Harpenden and St Albans are much nicer ut also more expensive for socialising but it is worth it.
