    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Day to day tasks were interesting and also given the opportunity to occasionally do something a bit different (Off-site training/ meetings)

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Varied a lot. Majority of colleagues treat you as an equal. However, some lack of communication when attempting to get in touch with higher level management.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My line manager was always very helpful. He pushed me to work hard and supported me with further guidance/ explanations when needed.

  • Never completely over run but always kept occupied..

  • Enough.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Due to my role, I can foresee a couple of final year modules that I should really benefit the experience. In terms of beyond my studies, I feel that I have learnt a lot about culture/ politics at work

  • Fairly quiet but very friendly.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Placed in one team for duration of placement. Then as part of intern scheme for all UK interns had the opportunity to do attend other events. (Team building/ presentation skills workshop)

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • 3 off-site events - Team building, presentation skills workshop and career planning gala. With regards to final year project, company have shown an interest.

  • Enjoyed my time. Would definitely consider any future offers.

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Everyone was friendly. (Approx 8 interns/ grads on site). Due to living further away than most, I was unable to get involved in as many after hours activities. Although there was attempts to organize events.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Not a cheap place to live. However, I lived at home and travelled to work so was therefore unaffected by this.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Pretty good in Bournemouth/ Southampton.

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Offers were there but I didn't get too involved (Due to living further away than most). Occasionally played 5-aside.
