    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my experience here, I found that I had a lot of tasks on a daily basis to keep me occupied so there was never a dull moment. The staff there were really friendly to me and made me feel at ease straight away whilst I was there. I also learnt a lot of valuable life skills which has helped me improve myself vastly.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I felt valued as if I was an intern there already for years. Initially it was a bit difficult for me to get myself acquainted at first as I am used to working independently most of the time but after we introduced ourselves, it felt better. They treated me with respect and I respected them back.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My supervisor was really kind and patient as she helped me around the office and gave me support without me having to ask her. I knew I could depend on her or ask her easily if I had a question as she was a nice person to work for.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There was a mixture of busy periods and slow times for me as I was a lower level intern. However I didn't find the work too exhausting to do when I did get the opportunity which has led me to the conclusion that I wish they gave me more complex work at times as i didn't feel that the work was up to my intellectual level.

    2/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given quite a few responsibilities during my time where it would consist me of creating presentations, taking notes during meetings and doing most of the administrative work. Although I did enjoy the tasks, the responsibilities weren't much of a high priority as it was tasks that could've been easily completed by anyone.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • To an extent it has enabled me to grasp concepts faster, improve my time skills and my people skills. This has more or less taught me valuable life skills rather than gain actual knowledge from this workplace. It has been a useful experience for me and I appreciate everything that I have learned from my time there.

    4/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • It was quite a quiet atmosphere as everyone was always busy working and rushing around the office so it didn't feel like a lively place. But generally it was a comfortable silence which can be appealing to certain people.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • It was very organised as they were to greet me on my first day, clearly knowing my name and where i have come from so i didn't feel the need to introduce myself formally. They had a well sought out plan of what i would be doing every day so I was good with that.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • To a certain extent they had invested in me to be a more sociable person with inter-personal skills which i value, and i do feel that I have developed quite a lot as a person.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There are opportunities to go beyond however I personally wouldn't apply to work there for future employment. I would prefer to keep moving and expand my horizons.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • When I was working there as an intern there wasn't anyone else there working with me as fellow placement students so I was pretty much the only student there. But i assume the social scene would have been great because of the area we were based in.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I wasn't living in the area that i was working in but the cost of socialising were quite high for a student there, so i would recommend one to keep an eye on their money and spend appropriately.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • I wouldn't really know this as I wouldn't work beyond the evening time, so I can't comment on the night-life atmosphere unfortunately.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I didn't really find out about much about the possible extra activities and clubs available, so I would usually go home straight after work.
