  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • The great thing about volkswagen is that you and your manager sit down and set objective, these are not given to you but negotiated so they meet both the needs of your manager and the business but also you and what you would like to get out of your placement.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I would say my time was very balanced, i was very busy some days where deadlines have to be met but other days i had a steady workload where i could get on wihtout time constraints. i would say one thing and that is you are never without something to do, volkswagen is a very busy organisation and if you are sat with nothing to do you need to ask somebody as there is always something that needs doing.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given a great amount of responsibitlity and had the opporunitiy to lead projects for the business that include interaction with other agencies. Some of the work i have done throughout my time at volkswagen has helped my area of the business evolved and progress and will be used in the business for many years to come.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I study economics and i would say their is very little direct link to my course, however in terms of working life skill and people skill i will need in the future it has been invaluable. My excell skills have improved, networking skill and overall confidence in my self and my work. I feel my time at volkswagen will help me secure a great job after my time at university is over.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • i would say the placement set up at volkswagen is very good, very wel structured and it values its undergraduates as an employee. We have regular meeting with our managers to discuss prohress and have a objectives sheet which we go through together so that both parties take as much as possible from the placement

  • The cost of living is Milton keynes i would say isn't too bad, i feel the wage you are paid at volkswagen easily covers you for your costs.

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • THe nightlife in milton keynes is not too bad, it isnt by all means a student/ university town but i think with a good group of undergrads like we have had you can have a great time no matter what!

    4/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are lots of opportunity to get involved in activities out of work, the lads on my placement and some guys from work started a football team up and have played all year round. The football team no only gave me a chance to get to know my fellow undergrads but also to get to know some of the other staff within volkswagen group. I would say try to get involed in extra curricualr activites with people from work as this helps you settle in a meet people on a informal level so when you do see them in work it is easier,
