  • Great fun, got to experience many things and the people were great!

  • Provided me with great support and mentoring throughout the year. Always gave constructive feedback at reviews.

  • I was more often busy than not, this was great as it meant I had stuff to do!

  • Given the responsibility of a full time marketer. Really felt valued by the team.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Great IP training program including: presentaiton skills, time management, six sigma and role specific training. I can now work pivot tables!

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Great atmosphere, open layout made it easy to communicate with managers and colleagues. The team was always welcoming and made me feel part of the business.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The business I worked in was going through a major re-structure so there was some uncertainty at the beginning. However, once everything settled down I was given targets and projects to get on with.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Speaking to friends who have worked at other companies, it seems like 3M gave placement students a very high level on investment and attention compared to the rest.

  • Very attractive company to work for.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Great social scene, not just amongst students but colleagues as well.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I personally commuted from my hometown, but Bracknell was considerably cheaper compared to Reading, Guildford etc.

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Not much happening in Bracknell but Reading and Wokingham were on the doorstep!

  • Loads of sports clubs and social events
