    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Accenture. Everyone was very friendly and helpful plus as some many interns are taking on in one go, you make friends with your colleagues very easily and have a wealth of people to go to for advice.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • There was good team spirit and they helped me learn along the way. I sometimes had to work late in the evenings, but it was always appreciated by the team and managers.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • At first, I didn't understand any of the acronyms or systems, but they were always willing to answer any questions and so I was able to pick up the job pretty quickly. They always found time to help out.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Days started at about 9:30 and finished at about 6:30. Some days finished at about 8:30/9 and I had to work on a couple of Saturdays. There were two weeks of program shutdown which was quiet.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The same representatives were in touch with us from before we joined through towards the end of the placement and they could be contacted about anything and would point us in the right direction. They also organised the induction week, the socials and all the HR paper work.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • There a dozens of socials organised throughout the year and with so many interns taken on, it is guaranteed that you will make friends with someone and you will all have lots to talk about as you are all in the same boat.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Central London is obviously very expensive but the pay is high for an internship and you get to go on a lot of company socials.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London has an amazing night life no matter what type of music or scene you like - if anything, you would struggle to get through all the night life during the time span of the internship.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Each project has a 'Life@' team which are responsible for keeping communication going throughout the account. This involves organising socials, sending out newsletters, organising account updates and so forth. This is mainly run by analysts so they love interns getting involves. This can also be done on a wider level through the different networks in the organisation.
