  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Enveryone was incredibly helpful and kind, always answering any questions I had no matter how mundane they may be for them! I also was invited to events which I did not expect including five a side football, a team barbeque and a team meal despite only working on the actual team a week!

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The document which I worked on for the HBOS half year was delivered to the press which although was a small part of a large operation, it made me feel very appreciated!

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Every question was answered, most questions were answered with questions allowing me to develop the answers myself and learn the maximum amount.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • I was only in the office one day as the rest of the time I was out at clients.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Although I had someone next to me on every client whom I was able to turn to, I was also instructed to try and work through the audit by myself

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As I have accepted a job the work took me out of my comfort zone but will allow me to carry this forward to the job when i start.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Although the office itself was quite, I only spent one day there and the rest of the 6 weeks I was in a team at clients where there was an incredibly friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Fantastic, the one day I was in the office I needed to allow me to carry out admin work. Everything was arranged in advance.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Although we only worked there for 6 weeks, one week was spent training and similarly coaching was provided throughout which gave me confidence in being given a graduate offer.

  • I have accepted a three year contract with PwC

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Fantastic, after the training week we bonded especially as we were all working in Scotland. We arranged several nights out amongst ourselves.

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Same as University as I am at Edinburgh

  • Edinburgh has a great nightlife

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • I attended a bbq at a directors and played football every wednesday. Similarly I attended a team meal at the end of one of the client jobs.
