    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • This was a hugely enjoyable opportunity. The firm made a huge effort to ensure the students on the workshop were taken care of and were taking part in interesting things. I was 100% recommend to anyone thinking about a career in a London Law Firm.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • They tried very hard with us, and during the different tasks and workshops they made sure the students had a lot of input into the discussion and everyone seemed genuinely interested in our thoughts and ideas as well as answering every question to their utmost ability. While I was shadowing a trainee, both her and her supervisor put a lot of effort into talking to me and giving me things to do that actually helped them in their work.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • They had a clear timetable and structure and there was always someone with us to guide us. It was very hands on for the current staff and they were very engaged in helping us come to understand how their firm worked.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • It was very informative about a career in such a firm, and their application talk and all the events have made me much more confident about further applications to both Herbert Smith Freehills and other such law firms.

  • They paid for accommodation and food, and reimbursed travel expenses to a certain degree.

  • It was very much focused on the life at the firm rather than outside, but conversations did reveal the kind of life a few of them lead outside of work. The firm's Pro Bono work came up a bit.
