About You
The Spring Insight Programme was simply fantastic and it well-exceeded all my expectations. The programme built up my technical knowledge, provided an in-depth insight into the industry and allowed me to gain a much better understanding of Rothschild's unparalleled expertise in the field. Beyond the technical knowledge, it also built up my confidence in terms of presentation, networking and reaffirmed my interest in the industry.
We were given a project to work on and present at the end of the programme. It was incredible how the analysts were so eager to help despite their busy schedule, following up to offer more advice throughout the process and even the panel of judges took our ideas seriously and asked us specific questions as though we were making a real pitch.
We received a lot of guidance during the programme- the graduate recruitment team was always willing to answer any questions, offer us access to internal resources for our presentation. We had tremendous help from the analysts for our presentation, which was invaluable and very much appreciated.
The technical knowledge that I gained gave me a much better foundation to further explore my area of interest within the industry. We were given opportunities to sharpen our networking and presentation skills, coupled with the immersive experience at Rothschild, will be invaluable for my studies and a future career in the financial services industry.
The Company
The programme was extremely well organised. Events were run smoothly and communicated beforehand so we know what to expect and could plan our project accordingly. There was a good mix between break and activities which really alleviated the whole learning experience.
The camaraderie among the spring interns was simply amazing. We were eager to network, learn from each other and support one another during our project. I have made incredible friends and this is a precious network that I know I will keep close contact with. The work culture at Rothschild is incredibly friendly and collegiate. From the warm greetings at the reception to the friendly conversations with the directors at tea session, I cannot stress how much I enjoy the work culture at Rothschild
As mentioned earlier, we were given plenty of opportunities to sharpen our presentation skills through workshops and develop our industry knowledge through presentations. I particularly appreciate how we participated in a community service activity together- a clear testament to the holistic development emphasised by Rothschild.
It definitely helped to provide a holistic understanding of a career at Rothschild. We were given the opportunity to work shadow analysts, where we had the opportunity to ask specific questions about their day-to-day activities, go through some of the work that they are currently working on, and understand their career development at the firm.
It was extremely useful- being physically there really gives you an immersive experience. Work shadowing and taking to representatives across all levels gave you a good understanding of the work culture. It was constantly stressed how collegiate, friendly and open the work culture is at Rothschild, and we definitely felt it during the programme.
The technical understanding of the industry opened up new opportunities that I would like to consider beyond M&A. It definitely also showed me how great it will be to have a career at Rothschild and I will definitely be applying for the Summer Internship Programme
Everything Else
All accommodation and travel expenses were fully reimbursed and we were given lunch allowance.
Yes, there were plenty of opportunities to interact with analysts from different sectors and even interact with senior representatives like directors.
They were well structured, and there were plenty of opportunities to speak to representatives from across the sectors and divisions.
Definitely, there was a strong emphasis on community service through Rothschild in the Community initiatives and these programmes sound extremely exciting.
Without any hesitation, it was truly an informative programme and at the end of the day, you will gain a much better understanding of the industry and Rothschild's unique positioning.
