About You
The insight week was fantastic as an introduction to the industry. I really enjoyed getting to learn more about the industry through the introductory talks but also getting to know more about what analysts do on a day-to-day basis.
Everyone at Rothschild was friendly and welcoming. HR made sure that we were well looked after and all the analysts were happy to talk to us and guide us.
Analysts took time out of their busy days to come and help us with the project that we worked on. Timetabled skills sessions also gave a lot of guidance and support.
Degree wise, the group project we worked on helped develop my team working skills and presentation skills. My knowledge of the industry and the interview skills I developed at Rothschild will also help me in terms of future career opportunities.
The Company
Very well structured day. We were given booklets with details of what we were doing on each day.
A really informative, friendly and supportive atmosphere during the insight.
During the insight week we had training sessions which helped us prepare for our project, which was a presentation on a potential M&A deal. All the skills sessions showed how Rothschild invested a lot in us.
Talking with the analysts and work shadowing really gave a clear image of what it would be like to work at Rothschild.
The archive tour we had on the first day was a really good introduction into the culture and the history of the firm. When we met analysts, assistant directors and directors, the friendly culture of the firm clearly came across. We were also able to understand the client-orientated and independent business culture of Rothschild.
I was able to explore all the different parts of the Global Financial Advisory at Rothschild and I have decided that I would like to pursue a career in the industry.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed adequately for accommodation and travel expenses.
On the first day we had both a welcome lunch and an afternoon tea when we were able to network with the analysts we would be shadowing and also the assistant directors and directors. We were introduced to managing directors as well.
Really useful but also relaxed and good fun.
We had a session on Rothschild in the Community and the volunteering opportunities at the firm. We were also taken out on one afternoon to actually do some volunteering.
A great insight into the industry and into a fantastic company to work for. We did have to work hard for the project but it gave us a feel of what it would be like working at Rothschild. We were also able to use the knowledge of the industry that we had gained through the week.
