    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I enjoyed the insight due to the variety and usefulness of activities and thanks to people I met, but at times it was a bit stressful.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt valued more than I had expected prior to the week. We were repeated a few times how talented and smart we were and how each of us could bring something to Barclays. Also, during activities we got positive feedback on our answers.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • HR team was always ready to answer any questions we had and assistance if we had any problems.. Business representatives were also keen on answering our questions.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I developed my presentation skills, teamwork and self-confidence in challenging situations, which will be helpful at university and in the future at work. One week is a very short period of time, but I got to know more about the banking industry and I improved my networking skills.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was very well structured. On the first day we received schedule for the whole week and everything was running according to it. We had reasonable coffee and lunch breaks, didn't stay up late so we could fully benefit from activities without being too tired.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Good atmosphere between interns, more friendly than competitive. HR team did their best to create a friendly ambiance.

    4/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was surprised how much the company invested in spring interns. HR put a lot of effort to prepare the week. Many employees devoted their time and energy to meet with interns and give talks. Also, we were given accommodation, food and pocket money.

    4/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • We had numerous opportunities to talk to employees from different divisions who were on graduate schemes Also, we did 3 work shadowing sessions which allowed to see in person how work at the desk actually looks like, but of course due to very limited time it was superficial. Beside that, some senior speakers came to talk about their jobs too.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Barclays' culture and value were stressed constantly throughout the week. The aspect of recent change and set values is really important for the company.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • We were given presentations from all divisions from this area of the bank. We had numerous opportunities to ask questions to employees from different divisions. Also, we had three short work shadowing sessions. However, during such a short time it is not easy to make up one's mind which role is really for them.
