About You
The three week internship was excellent; my work was varied and engaging, the working environment was fantastic and my colleagues were all very welcoming.
From the start, I felt like a valued member of the team. As my work was linked to the organisation's business needs, I felt like my work mattered and the staff I worked with all took an interest in me and my development.
I received excellent guidance both formally from my line manager, who was supportive but allowed me to work independently, and informally from other members of the team. The office culture was open and cooperative and any questions I had were encouraged and answered well.
The transferable skills I developed have proved useful in job applications and, no doubt, will continue to prove useful in the workplace upon graduation.
The Company
At the beginning of my placement I was given a list of tasks for my time at Frontline which were linked to the business needs and also gave my time structure. I also benefited from regular supervision meetings with my line manager and once a week got the chance to meet a different team from my own.
Extremely friendly and supportive.
In addition to a comprehensive induction, I received training in public speaking, a 1:1 coaching session on presentation skills, careers advice from an external adviser, and took part in a social work mock scenario.
Both through my induction and throughout the internship, I came to understand the values and culture of Frontline.
Everything Else
I was paid London Living Wage and any expenses I incurred in the course of my role were reimbursed.
Weekly meetings with other teams, whole staff meetings, training sessions and informal social activities like lunch.
During my internship there was an office bake off competition.
I would wholeheartedly recommend a Frontline internship to anybody passionate about working with a dynamic organisation to transform the lives of vulnerable children.
