Asset Transitions In Operations Review

There wasn't one day where I wasn't looking forward to work. Everyday I looked forward to the new challenges around me, the internship events and the other events the CDP team had organised for the interns. Overall making our internship very enjoyable.

I was in a team of 15 people. I had a very good relationship with my manager, from day one she was friendly, supportive and easy to talk to. I was assigned a buddy in my team who I also had a good relationship with, she trained and supported me with all my work. All my team valued the work I did, thanking me for me time during the internship

In the first week of my internship I sat with my manager and we set myself objectives to achieved. Since then we had weekly one to ones where I could discuss any issues I had, the work I was completing and how I was achieving my objectives. She encouraged me to step from my comfort zones and supported me in everything I did, both within the team and other internship commitments.

I was given a project to complete during the internship- my manager didn't expect me to finish it so quickly, so towards the end of my internship I was being trained for other small tasks and picking up other pieces of work. As the team are busy, there were times I had finished a task- however, I used my initiative to get on with something else until someone was free.

I was given a project which was to do with 'live' work the team was doing. When speaking to other interns, I heard their projects were based around past data and analysing. Whereas mine was working on something my team do on a day to day basis. This made me feel valued and that I was trusted to do so.

I believe all my objectives and development skills set at the beginning of the internship have been fulfilled. I have grown in confidence, I have realised my potential and to not self doubt myself, and that I use my initiative hugely. This will help me with my studies and beyond

I sat with a team of 15, and grew close to the majority. There was a good working atmosphere and I was told on many occasions how I bring an energy to the team. Although there were stressful times within the office the general atmosphere was good.

The internship was organised brilliantly. The recruitment team kept in contact with us weekly, we were sent out invites well ahead of time for internship events, my manager and team tracked my work and set me more tasks to do.

I believe the internship is a great opportunity to get a feel for an investment bank. My team trained me from day one, and to get an insight into other departments we were set shadowing tasks.

The prospects are appealing. Having this 10 and a half week insight, I could see myself working at JP Morgan in the future.

There was a great social scene with the interns. There were 70 of us all together and on numerous occasions we would socialise. I made some close friends who I socialised with in the week, weekends and will definitely stay in contact with.

I already knew the cost of living. However during the internship I was socialising more than usual, such as eating out, which is a luxury for when I'm at university.

Bournemouth has a good nightlife & a wide range of places to go.

There were lots of opportunities. We were invited to internship events, which included a mask bal and a boat party. There are also employee groups and sports teams which are available to interns.
