  • I had a fantastic team which made my job really fun.

  • Everyday my colleagues would thank me on how much work I have done and my progress.

  • I had my manager and a PDM - proffessional development manager to help with my job and individual development

  • To start of with, there wasnt much for me to do but once 'learning the ropes' a bit more, I had a lot to be getting on with

  • I was given a lot of responsibility in many ways throughout my placement

  • I have learnt many new skills which will help me in the future e.g. giving presentations

  • There was always something going on in y office from tombolas and cake stalls to nights out with the department

  • IBMs 'Foundation' are a well organised group who deal with the setting up and overall management of placements / graduates

  • Lots of services were available to me to assist in my training and development including online e-learning courses and meetings with my mentor to dicuss what how I can make the most out of my year

  • I would like to go back to IBM as a graduate

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • At Portsmouth there were around 80 fellow placement students so the social scene was fantastic

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Not as cheap as Uni (obviiously) but much cheaper than other places eg London

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • 2 main clubs which were always fun and busy

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Giveback is a scheme IBM runs to let employees volunteer to give back to the company / society. I took part in 4 of these and gave presentations and help out on many IBM events
