    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I did enjoy my time at Free Holdings, I met and worked with lovely people throughout the company who were always helpful.

    3/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • I did feel valued by my colleagues as work was entrusted to me to complete and deliver on time.

    3/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • All managers were helpful, kind and considerate. Questions were always accepted and I did feel comfortable speaking with management if I had any queries. I also felt comfortable presenting my ideas or suggestions to my managers throughout my internship.

    3/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • There is always something to do, I began working on a number of different tasks which kept me occupied and busy throughout the day.

    3/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Intern responsibilites depend on the position you are in, however, we were given the responsibility of contacting clients and entrusted to manage these clients which meant a fair amount of responsibility.

    3/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • As I am from Australia, working and London was extremely valuable for me and my CV. I was able to see a different industry and how it works, along with working with managers and interns from around the world, my social and communication skills were built up over my time at Free Holdings.

    3/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • All managers and interns were extremely nice. The interns connected well as we were in the same position and it was nice to work with a range of cultures, we all had something different to share.

    3/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • The company works with Interns all of the time so the work load and understanding the process interns go through from when they start to when they finish is pretty well organised.

    3/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • There was no extra training or development which would be useful and beneficial for the interns, however, managers did take time to explain tasks and make sure you were comfortable in your position before you started the work. Also, HR ensured each of the team members were happy in their role and if there were any queries you could always talk to them.

    3/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Travel loan

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • I do not believe this company is for me, however, there have been a few new employees in my time here, I think because the company is quite small it depends on timing for job prospects.

    3/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • The more you get to know your colleagues the more you socialise and it was nice to get to know the other managers/interns/colleagues outside of work, however, it would be nice to have company events such as a dinner every now and then or something similar to this.

    3/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Fulham is a very nice but quite expensive area to live in and London itself is quite expensive, however, it depends how you budget your money. Because I was living only temporarily in London, Fulham was the perfect area because I could walk to work and did not mind spending a bit of extra money on rent as it is a lovely, safe area.

    3/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • There are quite a few pubs, restaurants and bars in Fulham that are popular, a few that we used to go to for after work drinks on a Friday.

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Not necessarily in conjuction with the company, however, the area of Fulham does have gyms, Zumba classes etc that you can get involved in. A Pilates studio opened up in my time at the company and a few of us from work decided to join up which became a regular, enjoyable and social thing to do, its a great studio!

    3/5
