    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Part of the summer internship programme of 2014. Thoroughly enjoyed my 10 weeks. Good variety of work and well organised fun social events.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Colleagues were very welcoming and happy to help with any queries I had. Everyone trusted me and made me feel part of the team.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Had regular one to one meetings with my manager where he was able to evaluate my work and advise me going forward. Never felt like I was lost or had nothing to do.

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Fairly busy. Had a project to be completed by the 9th week of the programme. Still enough time to organise coffee chats and to network with leaders in other departments.

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I had full responsibility over my project and was allowed to make decisions on how I wanted to format and present it and the direction I wanted to go in. Was also given responsibility in day to day tasks that the team needed to be done in the month end reports.

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The work I did will not necessarily help directly with university studies. It will however prepare me for work after my degree.

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. Everyone open to answer any queries.

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Very organised. Had a project set to me on my first day. Campus team were always available and set up a number of well organised social events.

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I was given training courses in how to use the database software and we were given an extensive excel training session on the induction day.

  • Met a number of people who had been at the company for many years who all expressed the ability to move.

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Campus team worked hard to make sure all the interns felt like a class. Everyone got on very well.

  • Brighton was quite expensive but not too excessive.

  • Plenty of bars and clubs to go to in Brighton. Very thriving.

  • Yes. Plently of clubs and places to go to in Brighton.
