The Role
I thoroughly enjoy my internship. I feel it is giving me a large amount of skills that I can apply to both my university life and (probably more importantly) my future career.
I feel like I am taken seriously within the team and that my opinion is valid.
I could not ask for any more support by my supervisors. If I need to talk or have a difficult conversation (for example about not meeting deadlines) they are more than happy to talk with me. It is a team effort and I am not made to feel alone in my project.
I have many different projects on the go to amalgamate into one large, overarching project.
I am the owner of my project and take responsibility for it. I am currently around half way through and I still have a lot of guidance from my supervisors.
So far my scientific report writing is going to benefit me hugely when I return to my studies.
The Company
It is a friendly atmosphere, but it can be very quiet.
My placement is extremely organised. When i arrived i was given all of the details of what my year would consist of with deadlines However, this is flexible due to the business need. It was also very organised with regards to a week (or 2) of on-boarding and health and safety to get everybody qualified for the job.
I have been completely invested in with regards to training. I have been able to go offsite and have had significant amounts of money spent to ensure I gain the best knowledge possible from my internship.

I would really enjoy working here in the future.
The Culture
There was a very good social scene when the summer placement students were here. However, when they left there were fewer of us. We still socialize together, but not as frequently as before.
It is quite an expensive area compared to what I am used to.
There is very little nightlife in this area. You have to travel a little way.
There are a few activities with regards to some sports teams.
