  • Working as a placement student for Allianz UK has been one of the greatest opportunities I have ever had.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • From the first day, when I joined the company as a fresher, not knowing much about the information security field which was the area whewhere I have been placed in, I received a lot of support. The support was not only from my team, which have been amazing throughout the entire year, but also other colleagues from the company, who treated me with respect and patience.

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • It was very important for me to receive support from every person I was interacting with, as the area I have been placed was completely new for me (which is something I wanted) and from the beginning I have been given all the support needed .

  • Every day was interesting and I completely enjoyed the fact that there were so many different tasks I have been asigned to do as I was able to broaden my skills. The days have been busy enough to challenge me but also let me mating every deadline I had.

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Coming into the office was always a pleasure and "working Mondays" were not as bad as I heart "working Mondays" can be.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • My belief is that everything happened within the placement year has been very well organised and from the beginning there were good processes which were put in place.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Allianz have many courses which a placement student can take part of. The courses are either on-site or off-site and your supervisor always encourages you to make this year as effective as possible.

    5/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Working from home

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • There is a great opportunity for all the placement students to come back within the grads scheme, which will allow them to work in different teams during 2 years so that a better insight to what the company does can be created. A good encouragement you will receive regarding your career growth not only from your team, but also from the recruitment team.

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Allianz has a fantastic social scene not only amongst placement students, but also amongst grads, ex-grads and different other people across the company.

  • Guildford is a great place to live as it had restaurants with different specifics, bars and terraces for every budget.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Guildford is a student town, therefore you are in the right place if you are up for some parties.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There are so many opportunities to get involved in activities. From different charities every year, such as being part of the call centre team for "Children in Need", "Comic Relief" or taking part of the great Touraid event, to training and development opportunities such as "The Great Escape Challenge" which was the best activity I have ever taken part of. These will not only make you feel happier for helping the others in need, but will also develop your people and communication skills, strategy and planning, team work and lots others.
