    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • I really enjoyed my placement - while the work sometimes pushed me to my limits, I have come away learning an incredible amount.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • The firm has a HPC (High Performance Culture) which encourages frequent feedback, not only things you need to work on, but also things you have done well. The effect of this is that you do feel valued as a person and not just lost in the crowd.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Varying roles have varying titles for the support they are given, however I was quickly provided with a supervisor, buddy and mentor. There were also sessions with various directors and other employees on career progression and similar.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Always kept busy! Sometimes could have done with less work and a bit more of a break, but I can honestly say I was never at a loose end with nothing to do...

    5/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • To be honest, the amount of responsibility I was given did scare me at the start! Eventually you settle into the role and the tasks that are set become like second nature to you. From my first day I was sending out external emails to clients and asked for my opinion on things - definitely not just making tea / coffee for the office.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have used various skills acquired through my degree studies so far, built upon them, and look forward to employing them in my final year.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Everyone was lovely and friendly, however there aren't a huge cohort of placement students like there would be in some other firms.

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Clear defined role and responsibilities, while also being asked if i wanted to experience other areas of the firm that particularly interested me.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Conferences and awards evenings are quite common in the placement - allows you to get a wider perspective of the section of the industry you are working in, not to mention good fun.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

    Sports and Social Club

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    Company Parties/Events

    Staff Sales/Staff Shop

    Working from home

    Healthcare/Dental

    Travel loan

    4/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • 5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Good social scene but I have known livelier at other firms I have interned at.

    4/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • London, so it's never going to be overly cheap!

    4/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • London, so there's always something going on...

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Sports teams, party planning etc - plenty of opportunities, just didn't always have the time!

    4/5
