    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Not only was I constantly challenged throughout the 12 months, but I thoroughly enjoyed my role also.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • It can be tough being 'The Placement Student' in a big company, but I was always treated like an equal by the team I joined.

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • I was supported every step of the way, and when necessary I was given the freedom to work independently.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Naturally, I became more and more busy as the year went on.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • I was given the opportunity to choose and run my own projects throughout the year, and regularly travelled across the UK to carry them out on my own.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel so much more prepared for my final year than I did in my second year before joining Molson Coors. My time keeping skills, communication, confidence etc has all improved ten fold since my placement year.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • The office was reasonably quiet, but everyone was extremely friendly and approachable and I never felt out of my depth because of this.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • I was given 5 main projects to complete throughout my year at Molson Coors, but the work didn't stop there. I was also carrying out day to day work in between, which kept me busy. From my first day until my last everything was very well organised for me.

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • My opportunities were endless! I completed numerous training courses, from the IOSH Managing Safely course, to the Occupational Health and Safety General Certificate, which cost the company approximately £2,000 to put me on and consisted of two weeks training external to the company. I have come away far more qualified than when I first joined the company.

    5/5

    5/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • Extremely appealing!

    5/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Naturally, Molson Coors Brewing Company was a very social company and there were various social events run throughout the year.

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • I had a very good deal on living costs with a local house share 10 minutes walk from the Main Office in Burton. It included one cost, which covered rent, council tax and bills. Burton itself is a very reasonably priced town.

    5/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • The nightlife was one downside to the placement as the town is small, however there were various bars and a couple of clubs. It is what you make of it! When going out with colleagues/friends when they visited it was always a good night! You are also 30 minutes from Birmingham and 10 minutes from Derby for example, so there are lots of other options for nights out!

    3/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • There were various options to socialise outside of work from charity based events such a sky diving, cycling the length of the UK racing delivery lorries, helping to sell products in supermarkets, quarterly events with your teams, after work drinks, annual Molson Coors sports day, pub quizzes with free bars, open mic rock nights etc etc etc

    5/5
