The Role
I really enjoyed my placement! I really enjoyed the research I was involved in and I worked with some really great people.
Everyone was really friendly. Colleagues often stopped at my desk just to see how my work was getting on.
I had help whenever I needed it but was also encouraged to work independently which helped me to develop many transferable skills which will come in handy in the future.
Some days I had a lot of reading to do, other days I had a lot of practical work to do. My supervisor and I worked together to manage my time so never was left with nothing to do.
I was given responsibility over my part of the project.
I definitely feel much more prepared for my final year of university and for graduate roles because of my placement year.
The Company
A good balance between a studious and friendly environment. Nice to work in.
Very well. My supervisor was great!
I attended courses relevant to my research and was able to attend internal events.
Flexi Time
Company Parties/Events
Above 25 days holiday
Working from home
I would love to return once I have completed my studies.
The Culture
I was good friends with a couple of the placement students and my colleagues were really friendly and always invited us out for drinks etc.
Average.
Not great.
Yes. Flexi-time allowed me to get involved in activities two or three times a week.
