  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Due to the extensive support from my line manager and the rest of my team I have learnt a significant amount over the 12 weeks. This includes: specific technical knowledge which will help me greatly for design and research projects at university but also a broader understanding of the oil and gas industry. The internship has allowed me to develop my "soft skills" such as time management , presentation skills and teamwork due to being involved in multidisciplinary projects, In addition , a strong focus on safety within the company has ingrained this within me.

  • The graduate network "Energie" organised at least 2 events every month which all the interns were invited to . This included activities such as ; cinema trips , monthly networking drinks , rounders , Ceilidh , BBQs etc. All of these events were very successful and most of the interns attended these . I also was able to socialise with my colleagues in work e.g. taking part in the corporate decathlon , attending dinners with my team etc.
