The Role
It was enjoyable - I had a lot of responsibility on the project I was given and wasn't treated as a 'tea boy' or anything
I worked closely with a couple of guys and felt that they really appreciated the work I was doing
It was very easy to ask for help if I needed it
I always had stuff to do.
I was given a task and felt that the feedback I gave was really appreciated as I was teaching and informing my colleagues of what I had found
The skills that I have learnt (including life skills such as cooking as well as the working side) will really come in handy in the future
The Company
I was in a large office and it was good fun
DSTL have a really good setup with the 'Year in Industry' people
I went on a couple of training courses and would have preferred more but they cost money....
Flexi Time
Above 25 days holiday
There is opportunity to work yourself through the componay
The Culture
I lived with three other guys doing similar schemes and it was good fun
Going out was expensive and difficult but otherwise okay
Orpington is terrible for nightlife and it is a hassle to get to and back from other places
Not really within the company but there was other stuff in Orpington
