The Role
I found this summer placement enjoyable and interesting, definitely a valuable experience.
My colleagues were friendly and welcoming, and always willing to help, although some were more friendly than others.
My team managers were supportive and helpful, as well as allowing me the freedom and trust to work independently.
I would have liked to have been kept slightly busier overall, however some days were a lot busier than others.
I was surprised and pleased by the level of responsibility I was given during this placement.
The training and information received was useful and relevant to the job I was carrying out. I am not sure to what extent I will be able to use them in my degree studies but it has definitely helped in securing a further summer placement next year and a guaranteed interview once graduated.
The Company
The atmosphere was generally relaxed, friendly and enjoyable, but obviously became quiet at busy times.
The work placement was set up very well and I did not encounter any issues in this respect.
I was able to attend a number of seminars during my work placement, which were useful and informative.
Flexi Time
Subsidised/Company Gym
I have secured a further summer placement next year, and a guaranteed interview once I graduate.
The Culture
I was not able to have much experience of this, but there seemed to be a good social scene.
I was staying with a family member and was not able to socialise much.
N/A.
There appeared to be numerous opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work.
