My work placement was extremely enjoyable, A diverse range of activities, responsibilities and projects meant that the learning experience was varied and multiple skills were developed. I found the work enjoyable and interesting, with real responsibility and influential results. The placement gave me the opportunity to experience working life and strengthened my future career ambitions and direction.

From day one I realised my role had real responsibilities and that the results of my work contributed to our teams business. My colleagues valued my comments and inputs, and my ability to assist with the ever growing workload. I was welcomed into the team and included in all team events and meetings where applicable.

I was always able to ask for assistance, My managers and colleagues were very open and willing to assist me in my work and with any queries.

I had daily requirements and responsibilities, and the demand on the team meant that there was always something more for me to do should I be able to take on extra work. I was busy on a daily basis, with periods such as Christmas, New Year and motorshows providing extra work.

In my role I was given real responsibilities, and my input was valued and required by the team. The projects and tasks where generated directly from demands on the business and the results from my work contributed to the teams performance.

After spending a year working full time I will now take a different approach to my university studies, I believe I will be more efficient this year and my work will be more professional. My placement has made me think about my future career and given me the opportunity think about what direction I want to take, and strengthened my previous thoughts.

Friendly, productive and professional

Good. I was always given interesting work which had a real impact. Admin issues were easily solved, and there was a large intake of placement students meaning meeting others in similar situations was easy.

No official training but they devoted time getting me up to speed and involved in everyday business. The experience and projects was my development.

I haven't been offered a job but had great encouragement to apply and return. Before leaving they made it clear that they would like me to work in their organisation in the future, and encouraged me to continue to aim high and achieve.

There was around 50 other placement students and graduates, as a result there was a great social side to the placement.

Rent was cheaper than at university and I lived with 3 colleagues in a nice house. I only lived about a mile away from work so commuting was cheap, and the social life in town was good and reasonably priced.

Plenty of pubs and bars but nothing opened later than 1am. A bus would take you to a local night club. Southampton, Brighton and Portsmouth were all within an hours train/car journey and sported a much livelier nightlife.

Yes; sports clubs, gyms, sailing, rugby teams football teams.
