The Role
I enjoyed my placmenet immensly and developed myself so much as a person. I am so glad to have been asked to return!
I immediatly felt like part of the team. Everone was so supportive of me and I equally felt like I was able to support them myself.
I had a mentor within the store who is a Commercial Manager who had completed the Placement Scheme herself so she was able to give me a lot of insight. I met with my Store Manager once a week which was great as she was able to give me guidance and feedback each week. The Business Partner was also very supportive in all our meetings.
I was very busy as I was constantly involved in the activities and events in store. I was able to take on projects myself not only in store but on the Region.
I was immediatley given responsibility for a small Business Unit and during my time I was given more to look after such as events to run (Mothers Day, Valentines Day and Easter on Foods) and I was give Lingerie to look after as well which was a brilliant experience for me as I launched and ran a campaign.
I have developed and mutured as a person and all the skills that I have learnt are transferable; managing ambiguity, setting direction, time management and so much more.
The Company
We all worked well as a team and alwalys supported each other how ever me could.
I had an attachemnt day before I started my placement so I could meet all my colleagues.
It was very organisied; I had a lot of courses to attend and on the South Coast Region all Trainees met with with my Store Managaer and the Business Partner to run workshops on how we could improve our skills; ie successful walkrounds, time management etc
Subsidised Canteen
Sports and Social Club
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
I have been asked to return to the business when I finish my course and I can not wait!!!
The Culture
As there were only a few of us on the Region and we all lived so far away we did not met socially however we all kept in touch by conference call to discuss what we were doing in our stores to further develop ourselves which we all found very useful. I did go to Christmas Parties etc that were held within store which were enjoyable.
