The Role
A nice environment to work in, with a good, enjoyable atmosphere
Immediately integrated in to the team from day 1 and made to feel a part of it
Managers are working in the same office so are constantly there if any advice is needed - are happy to help you too.
Dependent on the time of the month, but could have been busier
Given responsibility for a number of tasks and allowed to go to meetings alone, meeting with quite senior people within adidas UK.
A valuable experience in working life, which I'm sure will help when getting a job after graduating. Difficult to know how useful it will be for final year at uni!
The Company
A young team that all get on well
Had a good handover period with the previous placement student to become an integrated member of the team. Could have been more in a general sense of meeting the other placement students, getting shown around the offices and finding out how the business works.
Had no training courses, but more on the job training
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Subsidised/Company Gym
Company Parties/Events
Staff Sales/Staff Shop
Many placement students return to the business on graduating
The Culture
Never given the chance to meet the other placement students, but within my team a few events were organised. Left up to the team to organise though.
Not in central Manchester so not too expensive
Lots of restaurants, pubs, clubs, bars etc - good transport links into Manchester
In the local area there is lots to get involved in. Within adidas there are limited activities outside of work - the boys had a 5-a-side football league running, but otherwise limited activities.
