    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • Fantastic summer placement, was very sad to leave at the end. Was part of a great team, never a boring day in the office/lab.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • Was working on genuinely important pieces of work for my team which they all appreciated a lot.

    5/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • Supported all the way through, was always someone there to answer any of my questions whether they were about the work I was doing, about the company or advice on careers fir the future.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Was constantly working on my summer project ( always made time for cup of tea and a chat with some biscuits though ). Was on flexi time so as long as I worked 37 hours a week it didn't matter if you did 9 hours one day and 6 the next as long as the 37 was done which was fantastic for going for weekends away and leaving at lunch time on a Friday

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • Was allowed full access to the lab and all the equipment I needed, was working with a graduate so wasn't too daunting and also made settling in much easier.

    4/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Definitely became much more confident in the lab and my programming skills have improved, also learnt a lot of the stuff which will be in the upcoming modules.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • A great atmosphere, always relaxed, always having a laugh with the team.

    5/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • They had a project in mind for me to work on over the summer, proposed it to me when I got there and ran with it from there. If I ever got stuck with what to do someone had a new task at hand so was never sat around with nothing to do

    4/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Was always given the reins on my project so was like being a full time employee, the guidance was always there if I needed it

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Flexi Time

    Subsidised Canteen

  • Living and socialising weren't as bad as i thought considering its in a nice area in the south

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Salisbury night-life isn't amazing but Thursday is student night and that was much busier than expected
