The Role
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at ASOS, it had a fun and friendly atmosphere which helped you feel comfortable in the working environment immediately. everyone's passion and dedication towards the business really showed through and you always felt part of a team.
Everybody was really friendly and made you feel welcome at all times. It didn't take me long to settle into my team and they are all keen to get to know you and make you feel part of the team. I definitely made some really good friends and is part of the job I miss the most, the people I worked with.
They were very supportive and were always available for a sit down chat and catch up if necessary. working as a team is a key part of the business however you were always recognised individually and supported. There are teams set up within the business to support the interns and monthly sessions allowed us all to meet up and digest each others job roles and take on any advise or ask questions. Its important to also ask for help and use your manager, they are very supportive and have your best interests at heart.
Day to day I was always busy however that was the buzz of the job and working in such a fast pace exciting fashion environment. There was never room to get bored and always a job to be done, this also allowed key skills to be picked up such as time management, prioritising and taking on responsibilities and being pro active. I loved that each day could bring a new to do list and new challenges.
I was giving as much responsibility as I could be at the level I was at which was really good. I was always pushed to do new challenges and things that may be out my comfort zone which was really good for me. You are treated like part of the team, taking on a role in the business therefore you have equal responsibility as a permanent member of staff which is really good. Your opinion was always valued and you were encouraged to suggest ideas and share your thoughts in all situations.
I have gained so much from my intern year and it really prepares you for your full time career and your studies ahead. Using your time effectively and prioritising tasks would be a key skill I took from the year. Having the confidence to push yourself in new situations and putting yourself out there.
The Company
The atmosphere was always really positive and exciting. It was a really good atmosphere to work in and I can honestly say I enjoyed going to work everyday.
Very well organised. We met monthly for training/talks and catch ups which was really nice. We were given immediate training in the first few weeks on systems etc. The people team were also always available for one to one catch ups if needed throughout the placement. You were also regularly emailed in regards to training and any updates.
Training sessions and courses were always available in different sectors which you could sign up too as long as it was ok with your manager. This is a great opportunity to try something new or develop in an area you are not so confident with. Also monthly we had a forum which allowed us to show our work, arrange days out, suggest ideas for the business and organise relevant trips i.e. factory visits. These were really beneficially and allowed us to voice our opinion/ideas throughout the time we were there.

Very appealing, I was given a promotion for my hard work and offered a position back in the company when a vacancy becomes available.
The Culture
Yes, there were quite a lot of us across men and women and different departments however you definitely moulded with the other interns straight away and everyone was super friendly. We'd arrange lunches, meeting up after work and plans at the weekend where possible. It was really nice to have others who you instantly got along with in the same position as you.
London as a whole to live in, isn't the cheapest however there is always ways around it. The area I worked in Camden was very good for social life and was probably once of the cheapest areas with all different places to eat/drink and meet new people.
Really good, there was always something on and events being held in Camden and it is generally a fun and exciting place for nightlife!
There were lots of things you could do after work such as in house gym classes, nike running club in central London, Yoga etc. I joined a gym near my house which I frequently went too. You can simply google your interests and lots of ideas will come up.
