The Role
So far...Great environment to work in, with a lot of business exposure and interaction with various employees within the organisation. Fantastic benefits and an overall great company to work for.
Made to feel like the work you do is important, but don't necessarily see first hand the results of the work. With time, I feel I have grown into my role and feel increasingly valued.
The management are very helpful when you require assistance, but don't tend to actively find out how you're fitting in etc. But as i say, they are very helpful and make time for you when you need assistance.
So far, I have daily, weekly and monthly jobs which are my responsibilty to perform, but apart from the set jobs, the tasks are generally ad-hoc. But again, if you actively ask for work, they do their best to keep you busy.
As I grow into my role I am being given more responsibilty, holding my own meetings with managers around the company and look forward to gaining even more responsibilty throughout my year with adidas.
The work is not directly associated with the exact literacy I read at university but I can see the way in which the academia I have read is used within business, and i am sure this varies depending on the company you work for. The exposure and experience I will have gained during my year I believe will be invaluable when completing my final year.
The Company
A really yound accounting department with lots of very nice, outgoing colleagues who make you feel very welcome. But when the workload gets large and deadlines loom, it can get very quiet as you would expect!!
The application process was straight forward and easy to follow. The assessment was fantastic and gave you a great oppurtunity to be yourself and demonstrate attributes you could bring to the organisation. The interview was informal and laid back, but very relevant. I heard back with a job offer within a few weeks, which was great, but having accepted the offer I was not contacted for months, which left me feeling slightly uneasy, but contact was made before the start of the placement.
Too early to say really, but I was taught the system etc within the first few days. I would hope to be invested in more during my placement.

Fantastic company to work for, and would accept a job back after graduation if it was offered, although in all honesty it is not the sort of job I would want to do later in life.
The Culture
Very outgoing bunch of employees alongside an open plan environment made for a great atmosphere within the workplace.
cost of living is not too bad at all, which is a good job really with the salary! But it is adequate and the experience that comes with working here is priceless.
Stockport is not the best! But manchester is a 10minute train journey away, and has an incredible nightlife, just the taxis back which put a £15 dampner on the night!
Within the department I was working there were many socials organised for employees, although these were done by employees and not the business.
