The Role
I've had a really great experience. I've been able to work on real projects that actually make a difference to the company, adding real value. The atmosphere at the company made the experience very enjoyable.
I've felt the entire business has valued the interns. My manager has been very grateful for the extra help, and everyone has been impressed by what we've achieved.
I've definitely been left to get on with the projects as I see fit, which is always a positive, but I feel the support is always there if I need it, both from our team and others across the company.
The pipeline of work has always been full, but I've never felt over-worked or exploited.
I've been trusted to write and implement features that have since been deployed live. I've also helped out managing and solving live incidents, so I've definitely felt responsible.
The technologies I've been working with are up to date, and very relevant. The experience of developing products in a real environment has been the most valuable part of the internship.
The Company
It was a very relaxed, fun atmosphere. We had several different social events over our time here, including the summer party - it's been great.
Everything has be ran smoothly. We had a well organised set of welcome events, and got into the job very quickly.
Aside from the day to day work, I've been on several training course, so YouView definitely seem to care about our development.

I would definitely consider working for YouView once I graduate.
The Culture
We quickly formed a tight group, heading out for lunch together along with the occasional after-work drink. The scheme really helped encourage that, by challenging us to raise money for charity as a group.
I spent ~£70 per week commuting. Lunch can be had for as little as £3 for a meal deal.
There are several pubs around the office, and we sometimes went further afield.
YouView run a bunch of different things, from running clubs to fantasy football leagues.
