    The Role

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy your work placement or internship?
  • The best year of my University life!

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued by your colleagues?
  • There was never any particular moment where I was made to feel inferior within the team. Same couldn't totally be said of other teams with which you work

    4/5

  • 3. To what extent were you given support and guidance by management/your supervisor(s)?
  • My boss was great; French law actually doesn't allow interns to be given entire responsibility over projects, but he was fantastic in dishing out as much as I could take on.

    5/5

  • 4. How busy were you on a daily basis?
  • Varied, as with any job. Pushed several times, but usually quite comfortable. It was a very relaxed office environment.

    4/5

  • 5. How much responsibility were you given during your placement?
  • 3/4 of my own projects over which I had full discretion and responsibility.

    5/5

  • 6. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and training you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • One of the best things you can take out of that professional experience is organisational skills for your final University year - treating student life as your day job.

    5/5

    The Company

  • 7. What was the general atmosphere in your office?
  • Relaxed, fun. Lots of people liked to listen to music or chat. Really it was upto you how you decided to behave (as long as your work was done).

    4/5

  • 8. How well organised was the overall work placement or internship set up?
  • Weekly meetings, 2x appraisal and constant feedback (almost daily).

    5/5

  • 9. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Training was available as and when you wanted (it took place constantly) and my manager was always prepared to sacrifice my presence in the office for more learning.

    4/5

  • 10. What were the perks on your work placement?
  • Subsidised Canteen

    Subsidised/Company Gym

    3/5

  • 11. How appealing are future employment prospects within the organisation?
  • It does really appeal! They do like to keep rotating interns to keep the team fresh, however.

    4/5

    The Culture

  • 12. Was there a good social scene amongst any fellow placement students/colleagues?
  • Better than university!

    5/5

  • 13. What was the cost of living and socialising in the area you worked in?
  • Wage isn't great and Nice is really expensive - Erasmus will help you big style mind.

    2/5

  • 14. What was the Nightlife like in the area you worked?
  • Tonnes of pubs and clubs in the surrounding area.

    5/5

  • 15. Were there many opportunities to get involved in activities outside of work?
  • Hmm, not necessarily with Amadeus - except for 5 a side. Generally the interns all hung out together outside of work.

    3/5
