The Role
I enjoyed the placement very much, hard work but the people were great and made it very enjoyable to be in the office.
I felt very valued by my colleagues as I was given the same responsibilities as everyone else and they trusted me to get the job done independently.
I was given lots of support by my manager. I had constant reviews on how I was doing and weekly training to ensure I was doing what was required. Everyone was willing to help answer any questions I had however silly it may have been.
Some days I was really busy and other days not so much. However, generally there was always something to do and the time each day flew by extremely quickly.
I was given a lot of responsibility, much more than I was expecting as was trusted with independent tasks and dealing with all sorts of customers from retail and insurance through to corporate.
I have learn't skills in customer service, sales, accounts and how to run a business. The training and skills I have developed will help me in the future without a shadow of a doubt. This experience has taught me so much which will help in any situation I may face in the future. I have seen parts of my degree put into real life situations which will help me come September when I begin my final year.
The Company
The atmosphere was great in the office, everyone was so friendly and willing to help. There was times when everyone had to concentrate and be serious as well as others where everyone was relaxed and having a laugh with each other.
The internship was very well structured. I had a training program to follow that made sure I was always busy and keeping myself on track throughout the summer. There was weekly check ups to see how I was getting on as well.
The company invested a lot of training into myself as an intern. There was a few days intense training for the first two weeks at the beginning of the internship as well as on-the-go training through out the placement. I feel very fortunate to have had to much time invested into me by both those at head office and within my branch.
The internship gave me a very good insight into working for enterprise, I enjoyed my summer and the experience and have been made aware of a wide variety of opportunities available at enterprise.
The Culture
Unfortunately not, this was because all of my colleagues lived at least half an hour away in the countryside from the office and Taunton hasn't got the best social scene in comparison to other cities such as London and Bristol, However I feel if the internship was in a city environment, I can visualize it being different with a better social scene.
I lived at home during my placement to save up the money I was earning and to still be close to my friends and family, therefore very cheap!
I worked in my home town of Taunton which is not well known for its nightlife! However, I was close to all my friends and family so I was able to spend a lot of time with them.
Very limited opportunities due to working hours and not many of us being in the office.
